The XEN Gel Stent is a surgical implant that works to lower high eye pressure for clients who suffer from open-angle glaucoma.
How does the XEN Gel Stent work?
The XEN Gel Stent is about as long as an eyelash. It is implanted just under the clear membrane covering the white of the eye (the “conjunctiva.”) Once inserted, the XEN remains in place permanently. Many clients who have had this procedure no longer need eye drops to manage eye pressure. If you suffer from open-angle glaucoma, protecting your vision is of ultimate concern. However, with XEN, you may be able to stop using medication.
