The Vivity Lens technology was imagined differently than that used to make multifocal lenses. Vivity lenses are created with a proprietary approach called “X-Wave.” The lenses bend and shift the environmental light to create extended vision. The technology is a first of its kind, stretching and shifting light without the need to split the lens into various degrees of focus as is normal with a multifocal lens.

No glare, no halos: Vivity IOLs

Vivity lenses can deliver excellent intermediate vision and functional close-up vision with no glare or halos. Vivity lenses may be the best choice for clients with retinal conditions that rule out placing multifocal lenses. The devices are also available as customized versions (“toric lenses”) to correct both vision and astigmatism.

What is the best lens for me?

When considering which lenses to choose for vision correction or to resolve cataracts, you have more options than ever before. The decision you make could be one of the most important health-related choices of your life, as you will live with the outcome forever. It is well worth understanding how each approach works, so you are confident in your decision. At Soroudi Advanced LASIK & Eye Centers, we are committed to helping you come to the best decision for your lifestyle and your individual vision problems and eye condition.

The options include:

  • Vision at a distance: Some lenses will correct your vision at a distance in both eyes. With this option, you will still need reading glasses for computer work or reading for the rest of your life.
  • Full vision correction: Correcting vision with multifocal or Vivity lenses is often the ideal treatment option, as vision close, at an intermediate distance, and far away can all be improved.
  • Close-up vision: You may want lenses that provide clear, crisp close-up vision. A procedure that replaces one lens to see close-up and the other at a distance is an option. Unfortunately, not every client finds this approach comfortable. Some may have a dizzy sensation or blurry vision, side effects that, while not ideal, may resolve with time.

Are Vivity lenses right for me?

To determine whether Vivity lenses are the optimal choice for you, a full eye examination will be needed. These lenses have many advantages and could be the ideal option. These lenses deliver an exceptional level of glare control for safe driving day and night. You may still need to wear reading glasses for work, however.

If you have cataracts or want to correct your vision with the ideal IOL, please schedule a visit with Dr. Soroudi. He will assess your eye condition, vision, and eye health and advise you on which type of lens will be the best choice for you.
