Testimonials
Dear Dr. Soroudi, I cannot believe how I lived my life for so many years with my poor vision prior to you fixing my Keratoconus. I am a busy dentist, and for years, although I could do my close-up work without much difficulty, I had been suffering from poor vision when driving and going to my son's wrestling games:

Technology
At the Soroudi Advanced LASIK & Eye Center, we take special pride in employing really the most advanced technology available in the country to provide the best results for our patients. This dedication starts from our reception desk to our call-center to the exam room and the operating suite.
The STAR VISX-S4 excimer laser with Iris-Registration Technology is the platform of choice for the most advanced refractive practices around the country to date and is available at the Soroudi Advanced LASIK & Eye Center. It has the most up-to-date “tracking” technology as well as “iris registration” which allows the laser to align itself with the patient’s eye during surgery to ensure accurate laser placement every single time). This machine has one of the widest ranges of treatments approved by the FDA, and allows Dr. Soroudi to perform “CUSTOM” treatments on his near-sighted, far-sighted, AND astigmatic patients alike. The VISX-S4 is also approved to perform “custom” LASIK/PRK to treat presbyopia (poor near vision due to age). This is the same excimer laser on which Dr. Soroudi had his own eyes operated on.

The STAR VISX S4 Excimer Laser with Iris Registration Technology performs CUSTOM treatment for Myopia, Hyperopia, and high Astigmatism
To perform “all-laser” LASIK surgery, Dr. Soroudi utilizes a 60Hz intralase femptosecond laser (this is the fastest unit available in the U.S. today: it creates 60,000 bubbles per second to create a perfect “ALL-LASER” LASIK flap every single time). Please note that most LASIK surgeons today are NOT trained to use this machine, and use a “blade” to create the LASIK flap. This is the same laser on which Dr. Soroudi had his own eyes operated on. Of note, this is the same machine Dr. Soroudi utilizes to create “tunnels” inside the thin cornea to place intacs to treat his patients with Keratoconus.

The 60Hz Intralase Femptosecond Laser makes LASIK flaps and Corneal Tunnels for intacs
For those patients who do not request an “all laser” flap, Dr. Soroudi utilizes only the Zyoptix-xp Microkeratome, which has been recognized as the most accurate keratome on the market today. This machine’s performance closely rivals that of the femtosecond (intralase) laser every time.

The exact optical properties of every patient’s eye who undergoes refractive surgery is first evaluated using the most advanced VISX customvue wavescan platform. Aside from determining the exact amount of myopia, hyperopia, or astigmatism of each patient, this machine provides information about “higher order aberrations” of one’s optical system and allows for “custom” treatment of these more suble irregularities to provide for the best possible visual outcome every single time.

The AMO Wavescan Analyzer for the VISX
Aside from a wavescan image, prior to surgery, every refractive patient’s cornea’s topography is evaluated in detail by a Zeiss Corneal Topographer. This machine has a special software that enables it to detect even the most suble irregularities from the surface of the cornea and alert the doctor of even early Keratoconus that, if present, would make a patient a poor candidate for LASIK surgery. It also helps monitor the progression of rare corneal disease overtime (keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration, etc).

The Zeiss Atlas Corneal Topographer
Dr. Soroudi performs his Cataract operations using only the most advanced and upgraded Alcon “infiniti” robot (with Ozil) technology. This machine has been refined to facilitate the removal even the densest, most advanced cataracts with minimum trauma to the delicate cornea and other eye ocular structures. Please note that not all Cataract surgeons have access to this technology, and instead, either use the older units that are still being widely used, or utilize other, often less expensive, technology.

The Infiniti Robot with Ozzil Technology
Dr. Soroudi only utilizes the most advanced microscopes by Carl Zeiss Meditec to perform all his Cataract operations in-house. He strongly believes that “excellent visualization is one of the key factors in successful Cataract Surgery,” and clearly, when it comes to such a delicate operation, he only utilizes the BEST technology for his patients every single time. Not all eye surgeons have access to such expensive microscopes.

Diagnosing and treating retinal disease is a very important part of Dr. soroudi’s practice. These conditions range from diabetic retinal disease to macular degeneration, and because such conditions can have devastating outcomes to those affected, it has always been of utmost importance to have such technology available in-house. The Soroudi Advanced LASIK & Eye Center is equipped with the newest high-definition Zeiss fundus photographer and Fluorescine Angiographer which provides outstanding detail of the health of the retina and allows for early detection and monitoring of any retinal pathology.

The Soroudi Advanced LASIK & Eye Center is also equipped with a high-definition Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) unit also made by Carl Zeiss Meditec. This machine provides ultra high-definition maps of the retina and the optic nerve and provides for an in-depth view of any early macular or optic nerve disease. Further, this machine provides an OCT image of the Cornea and allows in-depth, real-time, evaluation of Corneal irregularities and helps visualize old LASIK flaps and Residual Corneal Thickness.

Once diagnosed, it is inherent that retinal disease are treated in a very timely manner. The Soroudi Advanced LASIK & Eye Center is also equipped with a VISULAS III combination Yag & Argon Laser unit. This machine is really one of the most advanced technologies available on the market to treat diabetic retinal disease, open- and closed-angle glaucoma, and intra-ocular lens opacities.

Every exam room is equipped with a digital electronic phoropter (vs. the old mechanical phoroptors still widely used all over the country). This helps provide the most accurate refraction for every patient every time.

Dr. Soroudi personally takes photos of every eye and eyelid condition and displays high-definition images of these conditions on a high-definition computer screen for the patient and the family to see. Every room is equipped with the highest definition touch-screen Sony Vaio Desktop computer for the best quality image possible.

All in all, there are many ophthlamic practices around town, and they each have their own specialties and preferences in diagnostic and surgical equipment. While other technologies are effective, we assure you that there are very few (if any) practices in the country who have all the technologies above under the same roof. This stems from our dedication to providing you with really the best of the best technology in every aspect of eyecare today. This is why we pride ourselves in calling our office the Soroudi “ADVANCED” Lasik & Eye Center.
