Testimonials

Dear Dr. Soroudi, I'll never forget the day I came to your office for the first time: I COULD NOT SEE YOUR FACE clearly even with my glasses! Because of my severe Keratoconus, I had been given multiple different contact lenses that would only bother my eyes and thick glasses that made me dizzy and gave me bad headaches.

Los Angeles Lasik Eye Surgery Procedures

All established ophthalmologists that are devoting their specialized time to the new wave of Los Angeles Lasik eye surgery understand there are a few specific procedures that work best for the majority of their patient base. The basic bottom line to Lasik surgery of any kind begins with the creation of a thin flap on the corneal tissue of the eye and folding it very delicately to allow for the remodeling of the delicate eye tissue underneath with a laser. This in itself makes this type of surgery a very precise surgery and it is with the expertise of the eye surgeon how well the outcome and recuperation will be for the patient. Depending upon the age of the patient and the overall physical health condition will determine how soon the healing process will take. However, in most cases, patients are back on their feet and can return to work within a week or two depending upon the procedure they received. Most patients will receive a mild sedative to relax the body and to slow down the normal reactive time to avoid any spur of the moment involuntary movement. Patients will also receive a medicinal eye drop prescription to disallow the opportunity for any infections developing.

The ophthalmologist will instruct all patients who currently wear contact lenses to refrain from wearing them for the better part of a month to avoid any unnecessary inflammation of the eye. Patients regard so little attention to their eyes that they seem to forget how delicate and important they really are. It is with those individuals who ultimately lose their sight in later years who begin to appreciate what they once had and neglected. The Los Angeles Lasik eye surgery ophthalmologist will create the corneal flap, which is achieved by attaching a suction ring to the eye to prevent the eye from involuntary or voluntary movement. If the eye moves during this delicate time it will cause major damage and the eye can be rendered useless, which is not what the patient intended as a final result. The ophthalmologist is well aware that the eye must be immobilized before the surgery can proceed any further. There are times when the tiny capillaries will burst and blood will begin to spot the surgical eye in various places, but this is not as bad as it looks.

It will take a week or two of little to no strenuous activity, but the tiny capillaries will ultimately heal on their own.Once the Los Angeles Lasik eye surgery is established and the first step has been completed, the ophthalmologist is ready to begin the next step. This can be tedious and precarious for the patient, but this is where the patient and doctor relationship of trust enters the scene. When the patient has complete trust in the ophthalmologist, the remaining steps will move along smoothly. This is the point during the surgery that the ophthalmologist must be slow, careful, and precise when redesigning the cornea before bringing the thin layer of eye tissue back down and place it where it belongs. The technology advances of the laser, is what has made this new type of eye surgery possible now and in the future.
