We are so proud to have Ms. Tracie Souve as Dr. Soroudi's wonderful registered nurse and surgical coordinator. Tracie has been an operating- and recovery room nurse for the past 15 years with great experience in both fields of plastic surgery and ophthalmology.
All of our patients have the luxury of meeting with Tracie prior to their upcoming procedure and have all their questions answered in detail; this has truly helped all our patient undergo surgery with utmost comfort, confidence, and in a relaxed state of mind.

Implantable Contact Lenses (Visian ICL) for high Myopia
To this day, a small percentage of people who are very near-sighted (myopic) do not qualify for laser vision correction (e.g., LASIK) either because they have a very high prescription (>12-13D) and/or they have a very thin Cornea which makes LASIK quite “risky” (they may develop “irregular astigmatism” (ectasia) afterwards).
Needless to say, in the past, people in this situation had no choice but to wear their very thick “coke-bottle” glasses or abuse their (usually) hard contact lenses. Today, there is a great option for people with this predicament as there are implantable contact lenses that can be placed inside the eye!
The Visian ICL is a tiny clear lens that can be placed in the eye in a matter of a few minutes with no sedation, and without the need for any sutures. This technology has been approved by the FDA since 1995, and since then thousands of people with very high myopia have enjoyed clear vision without the need for glasses or contact lenses whatsoever.
