Testimonials
Dear Dr. Soroudi, I cannot tell you how happy I am with my monovision with LASIK. Because of my farsightedness, I have had to wear glasses with bifocal segments so I can see far and near.

LA lasik surgery can give you a whole new view on life
LA lasik surgery can literally change the way you view the world. It can be quite inhibiting having to wear glasses the whole time, and while contact lenses are a wonderful invention they can make eyes pretty sore by the end of the day. There is also the continual worry about losing a contact lens which always seems to happen at the most inconvenient moments. This type of surgery can be used to help people who are shortsighted, longsighted and those who have astigmatisms. It is however essential to do some research on the best LA lasik surgery clinic. Try to choose one that is personally recommended by friends or family and be prepared to ask the ophthalmologist questions about their qualifications, the number of patients treated and how often they renew their lasers and surgical equipment. This last factor is important as newer equipment will help produce better results, especially where the flap needs to be cut into the cornea as a sharper, newer cutting instrument will produce a far cleaner cut that will heal more easily. LA lasik surgery is quite quick to perform and you will probably only need a day or so off work. Once the procedure is completed you will probably find that you notice the difference straight away, and your sight will continue to improve for the next few days or weeks.
Make sure that you follow all the guidelines given by your LA lasik surgery clinic in order to achieve the best results and to minimise chance of any complications. Some 9 million Americans have already had this procedure so the operation is incredibly safe and very few people have any complications. You are conscious during the whole procedure and the eye is numbed with local anesthesia. It is then held open so that the flap of skin can be safely cut and folded back from the surface of the cornea. The laser treatment will then take a couple of minutes to complete before the flap of skin is the folded carefully back into place. It doesn’t require any stitches as it will heal quite naturally. You will be given eye drops to use over the next few days, and full instructions on how to look after your eyes. They will need protection immediately following the surgery and some people choose to wear sunglasses, especially in LA.
You may be offered two versions of LA lasik surgery as there is the standard lasik treatment and a more modern wave front guided laser vision correction. This surgery has been around for several years and provides a high level of precision and correction that can be good for individuals who need 20/20 vision. It is especially good for people who enjoy playing sports, either professionally or for fun. It was originally developed to be used in high-powered telescopes to reduce the distortions which occur when viewing distant objects in space. In the past some people experienced problems with night vision after surgery, but modern LA lasik surgery makes this side effect far less likely.
