Discovering how the Malibu Lasik treatment works is vital to understanding what it can do for you. You will definitely want to refrain from rubbing or scratching your eyes while the corneal flap has time to heal. While the healing is in process, there is an increased risk of corneal flap displacement when you rub and cause friction to the eye. Your eyes may feel itchy and a bit sensitive for a couple of days, but do your best not to rub them. Keep administering the antibiotic drops as prescribed and the itchiness will soon subside.
When you have your follow up after your Malibu Lasik treatment, your doctor will perform testing on your eyes to examine the state of the healing cornea. At this time, you can discuss any concerns that you may have, although most people are feeling back to normal at this point. You may be permitted to return to work immediately, but some surgeons would suggest a day or two off of work to rest while the eye is healing. Additional prescriptions for artificial tears may be suggested as a continued effort for further healing, though this will also vary among the Malibu Lasik experts. Continue the regimen that your surgeon recommends and you will soon be back to life as you knew it before you even had to wear glasses.
