Testimonials
Dear Dr. Soroudi, I have been suffering from droopy eyelids and puffy bags under my eyes for years. So many people asked me if I was angry or depressed or if I hadn't had much sleep, but I was fine; it was just the way I looked.

Glaucoma treatment with laser
Glaucoma is a very common eye condition that usually stems from high eye (intra-ocular) pressure. Just like a Basketball, the higher the pressure, the harder the eye. This high intra-ocular pressure is thought to lead to damage to the Optic Nerve, which, with time, can cause permanent blindness.
Dr. Soroudi checks each and every one of his patients for glaucoma (no matter what the reason for visit), as this is one eye condition, which, with early detection could be easily prevented.

There are multiple available technologies to best test and monitor the health of your vision, Visual Field, and Optic Nerve, and Dr. Soroudi possesses only the most advanced technology available to date. The Soroudi Advanced Eye Center is equipped with a Humphrey Field Analyzer, which is the “Gold Standard” in Perimetry used for glaucoma screening today, as well as a Cirrus (high-definition) OCT unit which provides extremely accurate imaging and analysis of the Optic Nerve, all by Carl Zeiss Meditec, as well as the most up to date Pachymeter (Pachmate DGH55) to best examine the central corneal thickness (an important clue in the management of Glaucoma).

Progressive (permanent) visual field loss in a patient with untreated glaucoma
Although the mainstay of Glaucoma treatment today is the use of a variety of eye drops which effectively reduce the intra-ocular pressure, Dr. Soroudi is trained and experienced in utilizing laser technology to reduce eye pressure, obviating the need for regular eye drops. To this end, Dr. Soroudi utilizes ALT (Argon Laser Trabeculoplasty) or SLT (Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty) to help lower his patients intra-ocular pressures.
Dr. Soroudi utilizes an advanced laser system to target specific parts of the eye which are responsible for the drainage of the “aqueous humor” (the water that fills the front portion of our eyes).
This technology helps lower the intra-ocular pressure significantly, and may even obviate the need for using pressure-loweirng eyedrops. If you suffer from glaucoma or high eye pressures, please make an appointment to see Dr. Soroudi; you’d be amazed how this technology may help you deal with glaucoma.
