Testimonials
As a model, I'm very particular about my appearance. Because of my family's genes, even at my young age, I had developed these bags under my eyes that made me look tired all the time.

Phototherapeutic Keratectomy (PTK)
There are a myriad of reasons why people develop scars on the surface of their corneas. Just like a camera with a scratched lens, a scarred cornea could have devastating consequences on ones vision.
In the past, there was only one option to treat these scars: a corneal transplant. Although a transplant can restore one’s vision very nicely, it’s a quite invasive operation, and it is fraught with risks of complications which include infection, graft rejection, cataract formation, retinal detachment, and even complete blindness. As a result, if one’s scar only involves the superficial layers of the cornea, they could probably be removed using the same (excimer) laser that is used to perform LASIK surgery. This procedure is called Phototherapeutic Keratectomy (PTK) and can obviate the need for a transplant altogether. Dr. Soroudi is skilled in performing PTK for those patients who suffer from very poor vision from superficial corneal scarring and utilizes his own VISX S4 excimer laser to treat even the most advanced corneal scars with great success. If you have poor vision due to a corneal scar and you’ve been told you need a Corneal Transplant, we highly urge you to consider coming in to be evaluated for PTK. You might be very surprised as how this procedure could improve your vision so much without having to undergo a corneal transplant altogether.
